Default Tranny issues

Hi.

I ave an 02 2.7l intrepid with ~115k. Thursday the check engine light came onand it didnt want to leave first gear (limp mode). Shut the car off and th eproblem was gone ofr a bit. I changed the selanoid pack this weekend figuring that was the issue. At th etime it threw 0700, 0700P, and 1776 for codes. It throws the same now but seems to drive fine. I unhooked the negative from the jumper posts hoping to reset the computer- but nothing.

Did I miss the boat? The fluid looked ok and had a mild sour smell to it. No chips or filings.

thanks guys!

Anyone-

By the way, it has only put up 0700 and 0700p (not 1776) since i changed the pack.

The first 5 miles had PRNDL highlighted, now it just "higlights" the selected gear.

I have driven it about 50 miles since- no issues other than the check engine light.

I am temped to unhook the battery to see if that erases the codes becuase the code reader we used could not wipe these ones out.

This is my daily driver and i have a road trip coming up- any help would be graciously appreciated!

1776 - solenoid switch valve stuck in L/R position. A stuck solenoid switch valve is a common occurance in the valve body of the 41te transmission occuring approx 140000+ miles. the valve wears its chamber out and then the valve gets "c*ckeyed" aka stuck. thus throwing the 1776 code or a dtc 47. If the code IS accompanied by a dtc 24 it is most likely an electronic issue such as the solenoid pack. If Not then its the most likely only the valve as I explained and you may be able to replace the valve body for a cost of approx $220 plus labor. That all depends on if other codes appear or not.

p0700 is a generic code meaning Transmission Control System Malfunction

Im having the EXACT same issues with my 41te tranny.. It not shifting is its going into "Limp Mode" Mine does it coming off the highway. I let it sit and itll reset to let ya drive just fine around town. But highway then Boom its back. Ive been readin up a lot and Ive found what I wrote. Im gonna try replacing the valve body.. If no Dtc code 24 shows up hten that means theres prolly not anythig electronic wrong..
