I have a 2004 Intrepid 6 cyl. Automatic. The transmission doesn't engage. It sounds like the gears are just missing their mark...more like clicking than grinding. I've done the ignition key on-off-on-off-on with a ------ that displays on the odometer (no error codes?). We've checked the axles and 'spider gear' but found no problems. We have taken the tires off and put them back on. The car goes into gear and moves once, then nothing after that. The speedometer works and shows that the car is moving but the transmission refuses to cooperate. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
