I have a 98 chrystler intrepid es 3.2 L with an engine knock only 178000 km on it, started knocking two weeks after I bought it car sounded mint when I bought it, I drove to work one day shut off the car when I fired it back up it started knocking louder and the oil light was flickering I drove it to a shop and on the way there it started lacking power... car will still start, oil is fine was just changed before this started, what was cause it to just go like that? Is there a oil sending unit or sensor that could be the problem?

 

Not possible since they come with knock sensors that prevent knock before the human ear can hear it.
