Visit often but first time poster with a problem on my daughter's 2000 Intrepid.

While she was taking a corner the inner tie rod connection on drivers side broke free. I'm in the process of installing new tie rod bushings with a kit I've purchased but noticed that the old bolt appears to have been sheared off.

I'm assuming the broken piece is still in the steering gear because I can not get the replacement bolt to screw in, it will get a little tension like it's starting than go loose again....any suggestions?
