Default Auxilary Fan....melted off!?

So apparently my overheating problem is due to my Auxilary Fan melting. And apparently for a mechanic to replace it, it would run me about $800.

I have only two questions...

#1 - Where is the Auxilary Fan on an intrepid?
#2 - Is this mechanic full of crap and trying to rip me off?

What about the sensors, you think that may have anything to do with it?

what sensors??? the coolant temp?? if u are asking about that one then nobecause all it does is tell when the fans need to be turned on thats all inorder to melt the fans it would be pretty hot really hot infact u haft to fig that they already haft to withstand normal temp of the engine around 400 or so.
But just install the fan motors both of them I would save U the trouble of having to replace the other one at a later date.
