Default I Pod wire harness on non-touch screen Nav radio

Got a buddy with a 2010 Journey that has the NAV/Backup cam/30 gig but is not the touch screen model. The display is sepperart from the control unit. It says in the owners manual that you can connect a I Pod harness but there is no connection in the glove box or center console like my 2010 Ram. It has a cooler feature in the glove box. Can they just attach the cable to the back of the radio?

I have the same REU model head unit with the Back up camera, Nav, HDD and Uconnect setup. I was disappointed to find out that this particular head unit is NOT iPod/iPhone capable. I called Chrysler/Dodge customer support and they said the wrong information that it is capable with just a simple cable. I told them they were wrong and that they nor even their dealers knew it wasn't capable. Perhaps next year's model, they would have added the proper connections.

Thanks for all the info... I'll pass it on.
