Hi everyone. My wife pointed out to me that my paint is starting to bubble up on the front passenger side corner of the hood. I couldn't believe it when I saw it, but it surely is starting to rust. I bought it new in January of '09. I live in MN and even with the snow and road salt, I never had a vehicle start rusting this soon. Has anyone else experienced rust this soon on their vehicle? This is really pissing me off since it's nowhere near being paid off. Also, what's the rust warranty for this beast? Most likely doesn't cover surface rust, just rust through.

 

3/36 should cover rust on the surface. Chrysler has always had "paint issues"...

 

I don't know how to tell you this......but the hood on your Dodge Journey is Aluminium. I guess there could be a problem with the paint adhering properly, but if that's the case you won't get any help from Chrysler because it's not covered under the Rust Protection.
