Electric problems
We just are owners of a Journey 2.4 SXT from 2008 and we already have a problem with our Journey.
When we start the engine the following hapens:
- the fuel indicator says no more fuel but the fuel tank is half filled;
- the RPM indicator says no RPM, but the engine is working;
- the speedometer says no speed, but we are driving..
- there is a alarm bieb;
- a lot of warning lamps are burning.
After a while the situation is over and there are no problems. Turn of engine does not help.
Can anybody tell me what the cause is? Computer problems? Is there a bad connector that
gives this problems? Thanks in advance.
Sander
Update:
I get a quick notice in the dahboard; no bus.
I Put it on video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxjzF...FXFIg8nGuxGb_D
Sorry. i don't installed a alarmsystem, i mentioned the peep.

You probably need a Cluster.
Does it every give u a "No Start" problem when this happens?
you said there is an Aftermarket Alarm installed? I highly recommend removing it. remove the Alarm module AND the Wires, go back to factory should be the first thing to tackle this problem.
Some alarms wires into the Cluster for some reason. I've seen Alarms causing communication(no bus) and no start problem a lot.
