Default 2012 Journey Avp + Sub-woofer help!

I have a 2012 Dodge Journey AVP with the 6 speaker audio system.
i would like to add an amp + Sub-woofer to my vehicle.
the problem i am having is figuring out how to turn on the amp and how to get audio to the amp from the radio. is this possible to do all this from the back of the radio so my setup remains clean ? if not how can i do this?

I do not know the specifics of the in-dash system of that particular model, but here is an easy way to add a sub to any vehicle:

I would suggest getting a powered subwoofer such as this one:

You will need to get a wiring diagram of the outputs from the stock radio deck so you know which is left, right, front, rear. Use wire T-Taps to tap into the outputs of your choice and run the wires to the sub-woofer high-level inputs.

For power, run positive to the battery and negative to a good ground. Tap into the ignition ON for the power on to the amp.

Funny how mainstream cars have very little internet community.

Can someone post a write-up? If the answer is a powered sub, where to get a clean audio input without the bass filtered out?

Is the factory sub crap, or can we just add our own JL Audio mono amp to solve this problem?

Hey, I adjusted my 3 band EQ for "acceptable" sound:

Bass to MAX, Mid to MIN, and treble up 2 clicks.

This allows you to raise the volume sufficiently to get some actual bass from the system. Ends up making some music too bassy, but better overall.
