New 2013 Journey R/T with issues!
In October I purchased two identical Journey R/T's, one for the wife and one for me. Hers is problem free, but mine is not. Because I have a twin to compare to these are obvious problems. Has any one experienced:
Vibration at highway speed: took it to the dealer, they rebalanced the font wheels, it had very little effect, then the service advisor told me the mechanics cannot road test at highway speeds! So in essence, that all they are going to do. I suspect the Kuhmo tires from past experience.
Grabbing brakes: they grab VERY hard, difficult to brake smoothly, and they seem to stick when I'm letting off as I come to a stop. Cannot modulate the pedal to avoid this. Also when braking at highway speed there is a definite rumble coming from the drivers side.
Scratches in the glass: I noticed a few days a go that the windshield on mine has two very obvious and deep scratches in it. Tempered glass is very hard to scratch, I've never in 40 years of driving seen a window scratch this easy...makes me wonder if it was properly tempered. There is no way the wiper should exert enough force to scratch.
Transmission: (6 speed) I now have 4,000 km on the vehicle, and the transmission is shifting very oddly, at times shifting very hard. It always seems to be in the wrong gear, and flooring it does not always cause a downshift. If I drive it autostick it works fine.

1-there have been several DJ owners who have changed out the Kuhmos
and resolved the vibration, look for bumps and malformed sidewalls.
2-the 13s have the new larger brakes so that should eliminate rotor
pad concerns,it maybe that the slide pin on the calipers are binding
and not allowing the caliper to retract - makes them bind and gives
them the characteristic you describe.
3-there have been several reports of defective glass which scratches easily
and a number of owners have had it replaced.
4-there is a tsb for shiftability of the trans and it may apply to yours.
You obviously have a good comparator from one to the other DJ
and should open a complaint file with Chrysler and find another
dealer - wth can't test at highway speeds.
