Hi guys my dodge Journey 2.0L Diesel is given the error code P2002. I have taken to the dealers 4 times in just under a month. They regenerate and clears the light but keeps coming. I have spent a fortune on this problem. Am getting mpg of just 20. The vehicle is loosing power as well. Does anyone have an idea to what this problem is.

p2002 is the diesel particulate filter efficiency below threshold, a dirty air cleaner can cause that code. the pcm monitors the effciency of the dpf for a concern, the efficiency of the filter is detemined by the amount of restriction in the filter for a certian exhaust flow rate.

Who are you taking it to for the regen? Are they not doing anything but clearing the code and sending you on your way? What have you spent a fortune on to try and fix it?

 

They charge e £170 for every regeneration they do. They will clear the error but the problem keeps coming. Now they say I need to buy turbocharger because they suspect that is the cause of the problem even though they can guarantee that will solve the problem. What should I really check?

Air filter for starters. What dealer are you using who is just guessing at the fix for this?
