AWD Questions
I bought my 2010 AWD Journey used (with less than 800 miles on it) and I've loved it ever since. We live in SW Pennsylvania - so it's snowy and icy here, but nothing crazy. When I bought it I lived on a main road with a flat driveway. Now I live on a dirt road with a long steep curvy driveway, and this winter has sucked. I know that AWD is NOT the same as 4WD, but it's driving me crazy to watch my husband's truck pull right up out of the driveway and my Journey just won't make it. Tires are only a year old and are in great shape (I'm a mostly stay at home mom, so I don't put a lot of miles on it). Seriously, am I just doing something wrong? Do I try to make a fast run for it when headed up the driveway? Is slow and steady better? Throw the autostick into 1st gear or something else? Honestly, talk to me like I'm a child and tell me how to get out of my driveway, please! :-)
lol.....I won't talk to you like you're a child.... Welcome to the forum....
Do you notice if any tires are slipping? Are there any warning lights on? I would have your husband observe the vehicle when you are trying to get up the driveway and see if he can see all the wheels spinning or just the fronts, etc. There could be a problem with the AWD system.
