Did you follow the instructions in the owners manual for resetting the oil life indicator? I.E. Turn the key to on and push the gas pedal to the floor 3 times?

yes it didn't work the first two times so the third time it took the change oil light out but i realize so did all my other warnings which i don't mind but would like the headlight and key in ignition to chime as a reminder

Interesting. Check the owners manual to see if you somehow deactivated those features by not performing the oil change indicator procedure correctly the first two times.
