Steering wheel shaking at speeds between 90km-110km
hey everyone,
I've noticed some shaking in the steering wheel when I am driving on the HWY at speeds between 90km to 110km. Anything below or above that range is fine. driving in city no issues. driving at 115/120 no issues.
I had all 4 tires inspected for flat spots, broken wires as well as had a Road Force balance done. had the tie rods check and wheel bearings as well.
No shaking when breaking except when breaking within that range of speed (90km - 110km). I had the breaks and rotors inspected and they were still good.
anyone has any idea of what could be causing this? Its starting to drive me nuts as I do a lot of HWY driving and would be nice to drive on there with a smooth steering wheel.
thanks

I have the same issue with my 2014 crossroad
I did the same as you I even aligned my vehicle twice. And im still balancing my tires. They where .10 off I'll balance them again and let you know.

If the rotors or drums have been replaced I'd start there because the cheap chinese junk they usually install is frequently out of balance. In several cases I've seen aftermarket rotors so bad they can't even be balanced/trued!
If the vibration does not change when braking during the problematic speed range then it is not the wheel bearings.
However if these parts are all stock from the factory, I'd first double-check tie rod ends for any play and rotate the rear tires to front and front to back. Test drive and note any differences. If nothing seems to change or the sound/vibration moves around this is valuable: vibration at a specific speed range is almost always due to improperly balanced tires, out of round tires or (occasionally) bent wheels. Personally I'd find a different wheel/tire specialist and have them balance the tires again, they may find it.
I've been through this on other vehicles and it can take a few cycles (different tire stores, different wheels) to figure it out. Best of luck.
