Default Horn Going Off by Itself

I am having the same problem with my vehicle like a lot of the posts I have read. This problem started last year in the summer. It happened three or four times but didn't happen again until September of this year. I took my car into the car dealership so this problem could be fixed but the problem hasn't been fixed. They found a pinch wire from the wiring harness and told me this would fix the problem. Just yesterday and today, my horn started going off by itself. I went to the dealership today and told them the problem hasn't been fixed and showed them the video of my car going off by itself. I'm not able to get my car in until next week but we'll see if they fix it. After reading all these posts, I don't have faith that this problem will be fixed. I also see Chrysler isn't taking this serious. From what the dealership has told me, the only way Chrysler will take this serious and to do a recall is for all of us to make a complaint with the NHTSA. There has to be a certain percentage of complaints to the number of vehicles (Dodge Journeys) out there for them to do a recall. So the more complaints out there on this issue, will force Chrysler to do something about it. I will be doing my tomorrow and I will keep you update on if the issue has been fixed or not from my car dealership.

There's no MASS issue with horns going off. If you wanted help, I would help you. But, I can obviously see you just came to complain. This is not an activist board. It's for people who need help.

Default 2010 Dodge Journey

My horn will abruptly continue going off by itself. At first it was while I was driving. Now it when it’s not running. Not short bursts either. Long 30 sec bursts. I just had to pull the fuses out today cause it went off in the middle of the night. Would this be wiring? Low battery in the key itself or what? We are now calling it my ghost car. Haha. Thank you

Default 2010 Dodge Journey, car not starting & horn going off on it's own

My vehicle started having ignition issues immediately, followed by the horn going off. Ignition and keys changed only to have issues continue. Car will not start, then it will. Horn goes off whenever... driving, parked, wee hours of the morning.
Nothing the dealer has done , which wasn't much ever resolved the issues.
Having a horn going off, especially continuous long bursts while in traffic, is a safety issue. Having to remove fuses and being without a horn, also not safe.
Vehicle has gone for long periods without either issue, then they both start again!
Extremely, frustrating.

How is the horn going off a safety issue?? What has the dealer done? Is this just a rant without specifics? Do you want help or just want to vent?

Hello Connie A,

We apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing your horn and understand your desire to reach a solution. If you're thinking you'd like to continue working with the dealership to get this addressed, please let us know. We can get this escalated to a Case Specialist for further handling.
