Journey Hatch wont open!
Help our rear hatch will not open! We have tried locking and unlocking, it doesn't sound as if it is unlocking. But the hatch will not open, there is still some pressure at the handle as if it is connected inside as it should be... So how do we check it out how do you unlock the rear hatch if there is a wiring issue as I have seen some having up at the top where the wiring comes into the door. So if the wire is broke above could there be others worn and it seems this may be a common problem is Dodge working on a fix? We have a 2011 dodge journey AWD.
Did you ever get this resolved?

Rear hatch will not open.Opened small access panel from inside the vehicle and turned the white plastic actuator
part clockwise as previously suggested and still will not open.Any other ways to get the tailgate open.
Can't pull the panel off as the screws are at the bottom of the closed door. Any other suggestions ?

So I wanted to let everyone know, there’s no button or latch or anything you can do to open the hatch door manually. I did the “solution” where you get a flat head and turn the white turn **** thing but the problem wasn’t that it was stuck in lock, it was locking and unlocking normally, it was as if something was stuck. The only way to actually get through to where the hatch is, I had to take off the glass of the light there in the inside of the hatch, then pry the plastic part where the bulbs are (be sure to take the bulbs out because it’s hot) once I did all of that there was a big enough opening to be able to stick my hand (my hand is small for a man lol) but I was able to get my hand through and saw there was a cylinder stuck and I was able to remove it, and pull the lever and got the hatch open. Hopefully this helps
