Default Messaging issue

I have a 2016 Journey R/T and an iPhone 7. For some reason, I can’t get text messages through uconnect. I updated the system with the latest software update and I have the latest iOS. I says that my phone doesn’t allow messaging through uconnect. How do I fix this?

Thanks for the advice but that doesn’t really solve my current problem. And I have no 8ntentions of getting rid of the dodge or the iPhone.
Is there a fix for my issue?

Hi Dman2417,

If you have your iPhone paired via Bluetooth and have the most updated software level on your Uconnect system you should be able to push and hold the VR button to access Siri to dictate and read text messages for you. If you are having difficulties feel free to send us a PM with your VIN for further assistance!

Hi Dman2417,

The VR button should be on your steering wheel, it will look like a person talking. If you push and hold it you should hear a beep once Siri is activated.
