Default 2009 JOURNEY Hot start issues

hello, i have a 2009 dodge journey SXT 3.5 V6. This truck has a long history of overheating on me. that issue has been resolved. Now the car doesnt want to start when its hot (running 15 + min). when i turn the key it cranks very slow and after 4-6 cranks it turns on. Mechanics thought this was an issue because my engine was running very hot without the temp gauge displaying it had passed the mid point. it no longer overheats, i changed the therm. i recently changed the outer 3 spark plugs and the cam sensor. It still does the same thing. I noticed that the coil boot melts and rubber gets on the head of the spark plug and on the spring inside the boot. I'm out of answers here after taking it to several mechanics and dodge dealerships and it cost alot and still no fix. now the heater core seem to have gone bad. i get very little heat in the car. sometimes cold air on the pass side and very low on mine. if you can pitch any idea on that i'll appreciate. I saw a video of this guy replacing the heater core by cutting the some of pipes from the inside and replacing it with radiator hoses. i might consider that. but the real issue here is with the hot start. can the boot melting be causing an issue. is it supposed to touch the plug at all? is it supposed to be hot? please help also, the starter burned out completely becasue i kept holding the key on the on position trying to get the car to start. replaced the starter and battery.

the spark plugs will get hot...its screwed into the head...apply di-electric grease to the boots to stop them from baking onto the plugs.

one possibility for the hard start after a hot soak: injector leakdown. this may cause a flooding condition. next time after a hot soak, try starting the vehicle in clear flood mode. this stops the injectors from adding fuel when starting.
to do this:
press the accelerator to the floor and hold it down, turn the key to start or press the start button...when the vehicle starts up...release the accelerator so you don't redline the engine.

if it starts better...have a shop do an injector leakdown test and if it shows pressure drop from the fuel rail... (i sometimes pull the entire rail and injectors out of the manifold to see if fuel leaks from the injectors)replace the injectors.

hey, I tried holding down the gas and turning the key. The car acted like if it wanted to start but it never did. It had a rapid pace cranking sound. Does that mean that I don’t have a leaky fuel injector and or extra gas in the combustion chamber. I noticed that after changing the 3 outer sparks the car starts better than before. I just got new boots delivered today and I’ll be raplacing all boots (wiTh some do-electric added in) and the remaining 3 sparks under the manifold. Any other suggestions as to what’s causing the hard hot start?
