Won't start - Key Undetected
I have had a number of issues with my 2011 Dodge Journey R/T. The newest problem happened on Friday and now it won't start. Cannot press the brake pedal to start as it is stiff and when I press the start button it says "key not detected". I know that it is not the key fob as I just replaced the battery with a brand new one. Yesterday my husband disconnected the vehicle battery and we let it sit for about 15 min, then we connected it back and no luck. The vehicle is now "dead", no lights come on at all.
Previously when using the Park Assist (I was backing up), the display screen went blurry and then displayed upside down, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Another problem about 3 months ago I could not even open the vehicle, even tried with they key itself and it wouldn't open. I let it sit for about 10 min and tried the key fob again and it worked. Another problem I encountered is the DVD player, sometimes it works, sometimes it says no signal. I love my Dodge Journey and so disappointed to have all these problems. I'm guessing I should take it into an Auto Electrical Service?
