Post 2011 dodge Journey no heat on passenger side

i bought this journey in the summer used only 60k miles a/c worked pretty good takes a bit of driving to really cool down but have now discovered some problems with the heat. this is my wifes daily and she has my daughter and soon to be son with her so i need to figure out why there is not heat on the passenger side. it has the dual climate zoneand the drivers side gets pretty hot when its turned all the way up and to my knowledge the back gets hot too. ive read a few different things saying it could be the accuators or the heater core. ive replaced a heater core before on a different car but i knew it was bad because it leaked coolant into the cabin which this one doesnt if that even still happens with newer vehicles. ive read to switch the hoses to flush the heater core or replace it entirely. also ive seen to replace the accuators and blending door. im wondering if there are any definitive signs that it is any of these things before i spend alot of parts i dont need. and advice would be greatly appreciated.
