Question Changing Subframe

Hey guys, looking for some help before doing the change. Have an '09 Journey, front wheel drive with the 3.5, and wanting to know if anyone has changed the subframe without using an engine support bar. Will I be able to just let the engine mounts hold everything up while I do the change? I've done this plenty before back in the 80's, just want my ducks in a row.
I figured some of you out there have done this, and any and all info will be greatly appreciated before this weekend.

Many thanks guys!!

No one that I’m aware of on here has ever attempted that feat. You will be the first. Why are you doing this?

Because the subframe is rusted front and back on the driver side. You can see clear through the thing, almost put your hand through the whole thing

I've done this plenty before back in the 80's,
Back then it was a "K frame" and the motor mounts mounted to it. Front wheel drive cars are different and usually have motor mounts on the side of the body frame and another in front somewhere. Have no idea how they did it on a 09 Journey.

Hi there I was wondering if you managed to tackle the subframe change. I also am looking at replacing the subframe as the driver
side is rotted out at the lower support arm connection point. I am only able to find a video of someone doing it on a Caliber. The components all look very similar to the Journey.
