2010 Journey Shifter Issues
Hello All,
I have a 2010 Journey with a 2.4L that I'm having a heck of a time shifting between gears. The tranny shifts fine when driving. The Internet is filled with "Can't shift outta park" issues. I can get mine to shift out of park (usually) but changing between gears is a real chore. The shifter feels seized. I am trying to get the shifter cable off the shifter (I have it disassembled now) but for the life of me can't figure out how to disconnect the shifter cable from the shifter. I know it's likely something simple but I can't see underneath the shifter to see how it's connected.
I did notice some threads said they disconnected but did not explain how.
Thanks in advance for any help
** Update **
Figured it out. It was as easy as using a trim removal "pry bar" and pop the cable off the pin (I'm sure a screwdriver would work). I just could not see under it properly. On a side note, the rubber grommet is a pain in the a$$. That took the most time.
