VIN on BLOCK
To whom it may concern,
Hey whats going on? Im going to get a new(used) engine put in my 2015 Journey SXT AWD. I cannot find the VIN on the engine block. I want to Carfax it to see if its accurate with what I have been told. Even if I have to pay for the Carfax. Anyone know where the VIN is on the engine block and will it be the same as the one on the dash?

The VIN is usually down near the bottom where the oil pans meets the block. If this is a different engine, it won't match the VIN on the dash. That is stamped at the factory to match the car. Unless you rebuild the original block, it will be different.
