Default Wet floorboards after rain FIXED

I’ve read this to be a major issue with these new Journeys in my internet searches.
I searched here thinking there’d be an abundance of threads. Not one.

So, 2016 Journey, 28k miles and it keeps me company every left turn with water pouring out.

Im an Uber driver. I don’t want this thing stinkin to high heaven. The floor is starting to get that get that cat urine smell, smh.

I know what I need to do. What I need is some schematics on removing that plastic piece up on the cowl so I can get to the firewall, etc.

Any help? Greatly appreciated!

Apparently not major, never had that issue with either of mine. Checked the AC drains? Do you have a sunroof? Have you determined exactly where the water is coming in?

Nope. That’s why I want to remove the plastic piece on top of cowl so I can see the firewall.
The waters getting into the air ducts. Left turns, lol.
Ive seen lots of people reporting same thing. Left turns and the water comes in, lol.

No sunroof.
I planned on checking the ac drain tube.

Its most definitely rain water getting in tho. That I know.

I planned on using duct tape initially on body seams, then windshield to try and find the source.

I’m hoping to work on this tomorrow between showers, smh.
Starting to stink in the car. Sucks for a ‘16 rig with low miles.

Since the water is getting into the air box, could anyone tell me where it might be coming in to help with diagnostics.
I apologize for looking for the easy way. It’s just I’m a paraplegic and can’t be crawling around a bunch, lol.

-Working it’s way down the windshield?
-external air cabin filter assembly

Ill start with duct taping but don’t have a clue where to start?

Well since I haven’t found any solutions, I did find a body hole in each corner of f the bottom windshield.
I duct taped both holes, it rained Sunday night and no water.
I might be on to something, lol.

If those holes were the culprits, I’ll take photos and post.

Well, it’s fixed.

All THANKS to my neighbor.

We were looking at it and he asked about the holes in each corner of windshield bottom in the body. I hadn’t seen them before.
So I duct taped both sides. It worked.

Since there’s NOTHING on the internet as far as solutions that I could find, now we have one!
People can come here and see what I did to remedy it.

Ill take pix later today. Just wanted to follow up how we fixed it!

Ill remove the tape and use some sealant this spring when it warms up.
