I own a 2017 Journey SXT. I don’t have any complaints. However, I need to increase the horsepower and lift it 2-4 inches. Any suggestions on either would be great. And I’m not just looking for a CAI as that is only going to add about 8 hp. I need to add at least 50 hp. I live on a dirt road and we get a lot of snow and mud. Any effective suggestions would be much appreciated.

Does the SXT come with the 2.4?

 

I could. You won't get 8 hp from an aftermarket intake. Factory intake is already cold air. If you google "pentastar performance upgrades", there are lots of forums for other platforms that describe upgrades that could be applied to the Journey. Unfortunately, nothing out there (or not much) for the Journey. It's been discussed here plenty, but the engine is already maximized from the factory. You would need to go FI to get the kind of gains you are wanting. There's always nitrous though.

 

I was afraid of that. I know I can replace the exhaust with wider tubing but short of a turbo what else is there? I will check the pentastar after i change the ball joints.

 

I was searching around the internet to see if there are any performance mods for their 6spd transmission. fix the lazy shifting patterns I noticed on my 2019 GT model. Alot of times, I just prefer to go to manual mode and shift the gears myself..
