2017 Journey starts on its own
How far away were they? A while back, a story making the rounds on the internet was if you pressed your remote against your chin, it would increase the range. I tried that and it did work. If for instance, your fob was in your purse in the kitchen by a window, if it got bumped and hit the remote start button, it may have gotten the start command. Either that is "Christine" got recycled and part showed up in your car.
Thank you. The keys were hanging on the wall in the empty garage.

Attached or detached garage. Do you have teenagers in the house? If you have a 14 year old drama queen (or king, let's not be sexist) slamming doors in a hissy fit, it may have jarred the fob just right. My sisters and I didn't have those fits as Dad took care of business if we did.
Then again, maybe "Christine" was sleep walking.
