Default hot getting heat at times, reservoir low at times.

1st problem- No heat at times. First noticed after getting back from a driving trip to Florida. Put several thousand miles driving from Indiana to Florida.
Noticed after got back heat would not work, then work etc.
Found low coolant in Reservoir. Topped off and it worked for months. No apparent leaks. could not find anything, no steam and no water dripping.
After some research online and looking through the oil filter to the V in the engine I saw some liquid. Not a lot but enough to see that there must be a problem. Still leaking somewhere but only have to add coolant every couple of months.

Father passes away 2 states away and I need to drive this to bring back some items. The same day my dad passes the Journey starts leaking a lot. I can't tell where exactly. I set up an appointment with an independent garage, Christian Brothers got the job. Drop it off on tuesday with the hope of getting it back on Thursday early so we can start our drive to Iowa. Let them know about the slow leak and that I think it might be the oil cooler. Get an quote for a little over $1000 to replace the water pump. I say ok if you can have it by Thursday early or sooner. The funeral is now scheduled for Thursday at 11am. Get the car pay the almost $1200 and drive away. We make it no problems. Get our business done and start for home. 1st thing a rear turn signal goes out. Then almost immediately we get a check engine light. I check with my cheapo code reader. P520 and a couple more all dealing with oil pressure. Clear it once just to see and it stays out for a hundred miles. Then comes back. I have a dodge built in gage and it shows at idle 96PSI and drops any time I accelerate. That is when I get the check engine light again. I check the actual oil flow and it is close to normal. Drive home normally but with an engine light on. First I could not find the chart with the RPM to PSI info. I do notice something about a 2 stage oil pump and start thinking the 2nd stage is not working right. Even changed filter and oil just in case the oil has broken down. No luck. but it needed it anyway. Oil pressure at idle always at 96. When accelerating it would drop between 78 down to 30's. And the check engine light on. Start thinking it was the pump 2nd stage but everything on the truck is running normal. Decide to change the oil sender 1st. Bought the stuff I need, changed and it corrected the problem. At least so far.
