Default misfire problem

hi

im trying to help a friend he has a journey 2010, lots of hesitation car stalls while driving
he started having p0017 cam sensors code he replaced both sensors he says code didnt come back

now he has p0300 random misfire
new spark plugs
new coilpaks
new air filter

car is unusable

heres a link to a video
https://youtu.be/Hpw5r2pO12g

he says he saw a video where the guy had similar issues and it was a faulty manifold runner control valve, so he thought he would replace it only to find that this part was never installed in the first place, see picture
he says he cant even find wiring or connector around where it is supposed to go

could this cause misfire all of sudden if hes been driving the car for years without the part and no problem apparently

do you think timing could have gone bad?
what would you guys check next?
would a compression test show if valves are opened like if timing is wrong will have low reading?

could be low fuel pressure?

thanks for any help
