Default Dodge Journey 2.0CRD 2010 overheating problem

Hi,

I have this Dodge Journey 2.0CRD year 2010, driven about 220000km.

This winter I noticed that its not heating properly / i wanted it to heat more. I made an notice that when weather was a bit colder, it heated a bit better (sounds quite weird).
I tought that it has faulty thermostat and went to repair show which changed new thermostat. After that there is overheating problem.
I might be able to drive long distances, like over 100km without any problems, but on different time it may raise temp around 110c in like 20km drive.
It is not reqular, sometimes i have problems, sometimes i dont. It also might heat up to 105-108c, stay there a while, then drop down to normal 95-98c.
While it overheats, cooling system gain some pressure (hoses are pretty hard, like hydraulic hoses) from somewhere, but cooland is not leaking or has not vanished.
Cooling fan is ON, because of A/C. Even top of radiator gets hot and the hose that brings hot water to the top of radiator.

I visited this repair shop and they changed new thermostat without any expences, as we both expected the 1st one was faulty, but still... Problem excists.

I will take my car back to the repair shop again, we have already talked about it. But im just wondering and curious, what might cause this?

Repair shop guy said something about EGR, that this coolant is flowing thru it for better heating and if it leaks, it might cause this pressure and ofcourse if air is
pushed to coolant system, it may overheat because there is some air in the block. Anyone ever heard about this?

Im open for ideas to look by myself too to fix this so i'd save time?
