Hi everyone, I recently purchased a '12 Journey at auction and love it for the most part but it does have a few issues... Not the least of which is the stereo head unit comes on with the dodge splash screen and is otherwise unresponsive to touch. This includes the display as well as the left and right dials and buttons as well as the steering wheel controls. This vehicle has the base stereo.

1. For troubleshooting, I've done the hard reset exercise where you hold the two radio dial buttons in for 30 seconds to hardware reset the device. Again, no response.
2. I tried the same with the CD EJECT button, with no response.
3. And lastly, I disconnected the vehicle battery for 30 minutes and reconnected it, also with no noticeable change.

Does anyone have any other suggestions, or am I really looking at spending $300+ for a used head unit on eBay?
And if I were to buy a generic unit that's compatible -- will I be missing climate control and/or Uconnect and/or vehicle settings functionality? I could find no documentation on that subject.
