2018 Dodge Journey 8.4" factory upgrade or aftermarket
Hello everyone,
I just bought a 2018 Dodge Journey with 25K miles. It's the SE edition so nothing fancy on the vehicle at all.
First thing I want to do is update the radio/touchscreen.
I like the stock look, but HATE the quality of the screen of the 4" and 8" screen
If I upgrade to the 8.4" and get a new heater control can I just update the existing receiver to support the new 8.4" screen?
I'd prefer to upgrade to an aftermarket unit like a Pioneer or Boss.
However the only Harness/Mount kit I've seen is the Metra kit that $350 by itself. Not looking to put a grand into a just a screen/radio.
Does anyone know of a different kit that I can use my factory controls with?

You're not kidding. I was like I'll just keep the 4" display and just upgrade the receiver to bluetooth... NOPE... there's a completely separate module for Bluetooth. SMDH. Anybody know if they have the cars pre wired for bluetooth or will I have to run all the cables?
