Does the engine computer control transmission shifting?

 

The TCM controls the transmission

 

On a 2010 journey sxt 3.5, we have replaced the trans-axel, and the Tom, and it still will not shift out of first gear. Any ideas? driving me crazy, taking all my money

 

I replaced the computer , and it fixed the shifting, and the horn inadvertently blowing problem. The only question now is , did the transmission guy at the dodge dealership wrongly say it needed a new trans-axel? It cost me $7,000+$200 for the computer. The dealership wanted $9,600.
