Default Liftgate ajar workaround?

Workaround?I've got a 2015 Dodge journey RT AWD. The rear lift gate sensor is stuck on saying ajar, the lift gate latch functions normally as it should, it latches, locks, and unlocks appropriately. Is there a way to disable this sensor or just remove it since my lift kit is functioning? When I lock my car the alarm will go off in a matter of minutes because I believe it thinks somebody is trying to get into the trunk

I would check the latch mechanism, try spraying WD -40. The switch maybe stuck open.

Try unplugging the electrical connector.
