I went to Home Depot this morning, as soon as I parked the car, two different guys walked up and asked about the car. I had to show them the insides, under the hood and how the Flowmasters sounded. They both loved the car and the Magnesium Pearl paint job.

Isn't it strange how a nice road car tends to speed all by itself?

I had the same problem with my 96' Impala SS, drive it on the interstate and car tends to go 80 MPH all by itself - unless you watch the speedo.

Only had one speeding ticket with that car, none with the RT - so far. :-)

He did me a favor and ONLY wrote me for 86 in a 65. Cost me $150.00 and I attended a drivers ed class so it wouldn't go on my license to be reported to my ins. company.

In parts of AZ 25 over is no longer a traffic offence, they could arrest you for a misdemeanor.

My car just prior to the Magnum was a 2002 SAAB 9-3 convertible...a much smaller car...Compared to the Magnum it wasn't as smooth (nor was it intended to be) (no regrets but I miss the car). The Magnum can definitely lull you into cruising at 80. I think one thing that hurts is not having 5 mph increment hashes on the speedo. At 1 mph increments it's easy to lose track especially if not running cruise control. That's one reason I suspect I wasn't doing 65...I wasn't using cruise at the time I was tagged and was cresting a hill to boot. As Joeb1 noted he was clocked at 93 (or 86, take your pick) while I was clocked at an even 65. I don't buy it.
As to autos, I've only had a few vehicle that didn't get me into trouble...a 1937 Chevy pickup (top end of about 45 mph...downhill)...a 73 Triumph Spitfire (top end of 83 from the factory)...and a 1960 VW Beetle (well, let's just say slow)... Had a V-8 Nova that just raked in fines... of course, with me at the wheel.

Always liked the Impala SS's... a far cry from the new ones. I used to have a 67 Impala...283, etc...alas...not an SS. A great car and my first car.
