Can I put a 5.7 Hemi in my SE Magnum
Ok so I am wondering if I can put the 5.7 Hemi and tranny in my SE Magnum? What do I need to do it? With Hondas allyou need is the motor, tranny, and ecu.Does it work the same for this? I didn't buy the R/T because it comes with a lot of "extras" that I don't want in the car. I am a honda guy and this is my first Mopar so I don't know anything about this make and am trying to learn as much as I can. If anyone has any info it would greatly be appreciated.
In short, no. But there is nothing that money can't fix... However, there is another Thread here that has covered this topic, and the conclusion was that it will cost you more to upgrade your existing car, than it would be just to go get an RT. So, Mod all you want, but it is cheaper to get the RT in the first place.
Wow, it seems you could buy the R/T and just remove any extras you don't want(whatever those might be) a lot easier and cheaper than swapping out a motor and trans and who-knows-what other parts wouldn't match up!
Aside from the cost, consider the hit you'll take on the resale value of the car, assuming you don't plan to keep it forever. People avoid cars that have had engine swaps.
People on forums are always asking about engine or tranny swaps. My general response is like the other guys here: sell the car you don't want and buy the one you do.
