The Truth about the MagnumSXT Stereo
The truth about the magnum stereo is if you are doing a real upgrade meaning new head, amp(s) and speakers and if you have an RT with the Boston setup you will have noise. Angry Pickle is 100% correct i am in the same boat he is.
Angry Pickle I have found the noise maker if you have the boston setup is there a small black module mounted to the same bracket your amp is on? when you cut the key to the on position put your ear to that box you will hear a very high ptched whine, Now if you unplug this box the noise will stop through the stereo But take warning you engine light will come on when you unplug the module, plug it back in and the light should go out after 4 ign cycles don't really know what that box is for but it is definitly part of the noise prob. Hope this helps let me know maybe together we can get it figured out.[8D]

Thanks Dodgemech, I almost freaked out when the car turned it's self off and said NO Data. But I figured it was the can bus. Man doing an install on a very new car with really nothing to go by is awesome and nerve racking, trail by era I guess. Here's the last thing I installed tonight. It's MB Quart tweeters. The sound stage if I closed my eye's you could tell it was coming from the floor adding some tweeters fixed that by giving the image the feel it's coming from the center right in front of you. I have a grill coming for the sub which will cover the whole thing protecting it. I am going to treat the grill by covering it with black acoustic transparent fabric so the sub will blend right into the floor, first look you won't even know it's there.

I edited my whole post so now all the instructions are good to go.
About the little black box, is there room to cover it with something? Isolate it somehow to reduce or block the noise?
Is this a little black box shared with the SXT? If I know what it was I could find out what to do with it.

If your sxt did not come with the boston setup or amp you probably are able to wire your speakers at the radio location.
I do not have this luxury my radio harness uses can bus to cut the amp off/on and it only has low level output from the radio to amp. The amp is located to the left of the steering colum all metal w/fins and there is small black box labeled "Siemens" Maybe this is something for the hemi mds or something that the sxt does not have I thought it might have been for the esp but I notice that yours has esp too so back to square one. What surprises me is this box is on the fac amp and there is no way this amp is more advanced than a good quality aftermarket amp there is no shielding or anything special about it other than it has no noise[:@]

Redhouse...Elaborate more on the box if you would. I am re-thinking what I am doing a little bit with my sub. What were the dimensions for your box? I was thinking of bascily doing the same thing. I have spent the last few days doing measurements and checking clearances. My sub has a 6.5 inch mounting depth. I was thinking about making a 7 inch deep boax that sits on the rails of the cargo area with a width of 39 inches. The box i was about to make was 39w X 7.5h X 11.75d , Airspace on this box is like 1.32cuFT and I need to keep it under 1 cuFT. So I was going to mount the sub in the middle and not use about 1/3 of the width of the box. It looks like you cut out the section of the subfloor for the cargo area and went with a 31 inch wide box. Post the specs for the box. I really like the way yours turned out, why reinvent the wheel.
Thanks,
Brian
