My wife would really like a new Magnum (black).

I saw a new 2007 Demo today, 29,000 km., but it has the smaller 2.7L motor with the 4spd tranny.

We aren't gonna be drag racing the thing, just using it for commuting & cruising.

If you own an SE model, could you please tell me what you think of the 2.7L?

I just bought my 06 Dodge magnum sxt 3.5. I did test drive the 2.7L for a day and I found it a little under powered on the highway when trying to pass. In stop in go traffic it was just fine. Would have taken a Hemi if I could have afforded the payment and gas. But the 250hp in the 3.5L suits me just fine. I was impressed with the extra power it had compared to the 2.7L. Since you are from Canada I did pick mine up for $20,500.00 cdnbefore taxes and the extra warrenty with only 20,000km on her. It was a lease buy back and pretty much was able to find any colour that I wanted. Happymagnum hunting!!

 

I have the 2.7 SE myself and I am not so happy with the lack of get up and go. It is okay once you get used to it but if there is any way you can afford the 3.5 i would not hesitate. Don't get me wrong I love my car, after a few modifications (ie exhaust, chip, intake) but I wish I would have went with the 3.5 but I wanted to buy cash and that was about all I could do.

Either way I think you will enjoy the car, it is a very fun car, good luck!
