Default 22" Chrome Rims and Gas Milage

I have a 2007 3.5L SXT with 22" chrome rims. With these rims, will this cause me to burn more gas and oil? Also, will I have to change the brakes more often than I would if I had stock rims? Thanks in advance.

If they are heavier than the stock wheels (and I`m guessing they are) , then yes , they will effect your fuel milage , and your braking distance ...as well as wear out the brakes sooner. How much? Probably not a lot , you may not even notice it , but that`s the price to pay for more rolling mass.

the stock sxt rim and tire combo weighs 45lbs. most 22" wheel combos weigh in at 72lbs and more. that will surely slow down acceleration and lengthen braking distance. and Yes, you will burn more gas as friction and weight increases with your 22's.
