I have an 01 dodge ram 1500, 5.2L, 318ci. I'm having a problem with the overdrive.. when im driving on the freeway the overdrive will be on and then will turn it's self off, and then back on and then back off.. i think its either a sensor or the computer or a bad component somewhere.. can u help?..

I know for sure what will fix your O.D., all you have to do is trade in your truck for a Magnum R/T.
You'll have a tranny that works (The Mercedes-BenzW5a580K 5-speed automatic)
and get better gas milage.....not to mention more torque than that truck.
Also has a trailer option

 

Have you tried posting this up in the truck section?
They may be a model specific problem that they may have more insight on.
