Hey,
I took it for granted that the New Cars with an Auto-Shift Function worked like the Transmission in the Magnum. I was wrong... My nephew had his Mazda RX-8 in the shop and had a rental for about 2 to 3 weeks. I drove in at least (3) of the Rentals. Mazda 3, Cadilac Catera and a Nissan, I think... All of the Cars would not shift out of 1st Gear Automatically. One just shut the engine off. One just shut off the Rev Limiter and the other just wouldn't Rev any higher. Seems like Dodge knew I would be driving this car and took the extra precautuions when building it... Smart!

 

yeah, your magnum is really a Mercedes with a dodge engine. the automatic upshift in autostick mode can be disabled. then it would act just like a manual trans.

 

How can this automatic up shift be disabled?

 

if you have a R/T, you can use the superchips flashpaq or diablosports predator
