Programming Software for a Laptop?
I have no mods yet. I keep changing my mind about what I want to do with the car. I would like to be able to alter setting to up the mpg for now, and in the spring get the most out of the stock engine performance-wise. Also, I would like to see harder shifts (after winter of course). I don't like the idea of spending $300-$500 for a handheld when all I really need is the software and a patch cable.
As far as mods I have considered, I've nixed the shaker hood based on low or no return in performance. Best I could find was in the neighborhood of 4hp for the CDC shaker and couldn't find any info for Danko hp gains. Both designs seem very inefficient in creating a ram air environment or optimizing air flow. For now, I won't go into the engine since the car is a daily driver for me, so I would just like to optimize the ECU settings to fit the season. More performance for daily use in the summer, and more mpg for vacations and winter.
I guess my biggest problem lies in that DMC built a car that I'm 99% satisfied with and I'm hesitant to 'specialize' the car for one mode of driving right now.
