Default What was the main factor in Purchasing the Magnum?

This is for a marketing course I'm taking - I'm a HUGE magnum fan, so i did a project on this. If your reasoning isn't on the list, just respond with your reason for buying.

Thanks guys. (and gals!)

PS - Any magnum owners in the Villanova, PA area??

Maybe you should include pricing in your model?

I think value would cover pricing.

Hmmm.. there was not one factor... I got it because it was the best of several worlds that I needed... to get the Magnum, I got rid of a full sized Truck and a 1996 Impala SS that was heavily modified... so, the Magnum was something that was in between... enough room for me to haul stuff I need (didn't need a truck, but something more than a sedan), and had enough poop to get me into trouble when I wanted to (sure, nothing compared to the Impala, but a compromise)....

The benefits that I didn't forsee were how much I liked the NAV system, and Sirius, and the UCONNECT feature... but they are all icing on an already very sweet cake!!

Wicked96SS,

How much of a compromise to your SS? I to had to let go of my SS for different reasons, and I'm searching for another family hauler with some...

I got mine for 2 reasons, the styling AND the HEMI motor.

Car looks like the top was chopped and I have always wanted a Hemi V8.

I also sold my 96' Impala SS, with many mods.

Great minds think alike.

Well, my Impala was pretty heavily modified, heads, cam, full lenght headers, no cats, 3500 RPM stall converter, 4.10's, etc. etc. etc.... very fast car... but, not very reliable... as you can imagine. Plus loud enough to drive even the most hardcore muscle car lover nuts after a couple of hours of driving... lots of drone...

The Magnum is much more comfortable, and just a pleasure to drive... I dare say that I love this car as much as I loved the Impala SS when I drove it off of the lot in 1996.... so, they are very similar in a lot of ways... but the Magnum is faster than the stock 1996 Impala SS was... so a benefit there.

I checked Design/Styling, but if it didn't come with the HEMI I wouldn't have bought it. I wanted a muscle car, so maybe I should have checked "engine".

I can't tell you how often I catch people ogling the car as I drive. I have tag frames that say "Yeah, It's got a HEMI" so they know.

Yes I bought because of the Hemi, and the usefulness (lots of cargo space, heated seats are need here in the cold north, along with remote start, heated mirrors. But I put down value, because it's like getting the car that is worth 50,000 (E320, 5 Series, Cadillac, Lincoln) for a lot less. All the major features of a higher price car - The nearest competitor is listed as the Jaguar X-Type Estate Wagon.

Value to me is smiles per mile divided by the cost of ownership for each of those miles. HEMI + Dodge Magnum = MaxFun

Happy Holidays,
