Default BAD VIBRATION WHEN BRAKING???

I have a 2005 Magnum RT with 35k miles and my rotors are warped realllllllllly bad! When I hit the brakes it shakes like hell and when Im almost stopped I feel them "GRAB" in certain spots. Would this be covered under warranty or should i just buy new rotors????

Not 100% sure, but I think rotors are a "wear" item and aren't covered.

Hemi Mag 386,
Be sure to get to your Dealer before the 36,000 Mile Bumper to Bumper Warranty is out. I have heard of a few people getting their Rotors replaced, but I have also heard of the Dealer not covering it... I think Mileage has a lot to do with it.

BTW, I had some pretty harsh shaking going on with my Rotors a few times, but both times they were caused by me... I am assuming you had a situation that causedyou to brake from, oh, 80 to 120 mph down to 40 to 65 mph really quick, for some reason or another. The SRT-8 brakes can handle this, the stock brakes warp. They leveled back off after a week or so. Rotors are still fine and I have another 35% to go on my stock brake pads at 69,000 miles.

Let us know what you did to cause the Warping!

Ive only had the car for about 2 weeks. I bought it used and the rotors have been like this since i got it. And since ive had it ive never had to slam on the brakes or anything. Hopefully i can get the rotors changed under warranty....ive known the service manager at my local dodge dealership for all 22 years of my life.

Hemi Mag 386,
Take it back immediately! It was theperson who had the car before you that slammed onthe brakes! (probably having some last minute fun in the Magnum before trading it in...)

All Dodge vehicles are notorious for warped rotors. Have fun getting them covered under warranty. Seems to be a random decision by the service manager at each shop.

My sons both own Dodge pickups. Both trucks warped the rotors. My Magnum warped rotors as well. None of us went with warranty mostly because we'd rather spend more money and get rotors that will never warp, than have to go back every 35,000 miles for replacements.

I have an 07 Mag with only 3000 miles, but I had the same problem. Last week the dealer found one rotor had to be resurfaced. After the servicing, it now has smooth braking. But I've never had a brand new car, or truck, that needed brake work. My 02 Dakota had 70K miles and the brakes never needed servicing.

If (when?) the rotors warp again, I'll ask for replacements.
