Default RT 4th gear weirdness

Whenever I drop the gear down to 4th and go down a slight slope, the car seems to surge some. It feels like braking w/a slightly warped rotor. Doesn't happen in 3rd or 5th gears. Haven't noticed it when accelorating, just coasting in 4th. Anyone else have this?

thanks

Seems like every week some new bug /problem shows up. Still haven't figured out what is tripping the airbag light when the car sits out in the sun during the day...doesn't happen when it's cool.

Don't know about the 4th gear problem, but the airbag light might have a fix. Check the code when it comes on. Then you can narrow it down. When sitting in the sun connectors tend to expand. might just have a connector that is loose. You can disconnect the connector and twist the prong in the male connector carefully to get a better connection.

thanks for the info on the airbag sensor. i took it to dodge the next day after noticing it, but it didn't store the code. someone said there are several for the airbag system, so I wouldn't know where to begin.

i had to take my car into dodge about 10 times before they actually got my airbag light fixed. they replaced the springs in the steering column, then the airbag, and then finally some sensors

I have an '05 R/T and had an issue with 4th gear. They replaced the TCM. All better now.

whenever you downshift out of 5th, the MDS will turn off and the engine may have a surge when all 8 cylinders fire back up. also, the torque converter will unlock causing the engine to surge slightly. all normal
