Default Used Oil not rated MS-6395...Now what?

Hi all,

I just changed my SXT's oil and filter. Normally I have the dealer do it, but I'm getting bad vibes from them, so I decided to service the Magnum myself. BTW, the vehicle was broken in with regular oil, and has had synthetic oil from the second oil change.

I used Mobil1 10W-30 Syn.Extended Performance w/ M1 E.P. filter. I had read the regular Mobil1 10-30 Syn is compliant with Chrysler's MS-6395 standard, but I just realized the oil I used (Mobil1 10W-30 Syn. Extended Performance) is not.

Will I damage anything if I keep this oil in for 10K miles?

if you have doubts, don't leave it in so long. i personally would change it at 5k miles.

Thanks, I'll follow your advice. I'm still trying to track down the details behind the MS-6395 standard.

BTW...I spoke with an Exxon/Mobil representative and the Extended Performance synthetic product is certified to MS-6395. The new packaging mentions it, but their website has not been updated.

Thanks for your input.
