Default K & N filter

Just wondering if anyone is using a K&N drop in filter is the sound different any performance gains? Do you have the stock silencer in or removed? And is hard to remove the silencer? My stock car is to QUIET....

Yes, I have read on another forum that removing the intake silencer will add a little more growl to the engine. Also one person did test with a in-car performance tester and showed a 5hp gain with the drop in K&N and the silencer removed. Testing was done with the stock exhaust.

Thanks MikeyB, That linked helped alot i will do the same i'll wait till spring to climb under there but i will get the K&N drop in filter for now..Thanks again....
