Wife's SXT starts; then just turns over??? Help!!!
Bought my wife a used 06 SXT magnum 3.5L with 17,300 miles. We knew this car had a salvage title; tree had fallen on the rear and smashed back tailgate and window out and then rain had gotten in. The key buttons DO NOT lock car or set alarm! We have driven it over 2300 miles with no problems.. then on the way home from work the lightning bolt light came on; car skipped but made it home. I'm no mechanic but when I checked it out the ground wire from engine to post beside the radiator resivoir was broken, replace that. Now we are having all kinds of problems. (Note: the alarm light and air bag light has always been on.) Now the car will start sometimes perfect and drive perfect; next time may just turn over; next time starts and runs with lightning bolt light on. Seem to be able to get it started with the key trick, (turn on/off several times and then it seems to start.) Took to the dealer and they changed main PCM for $819 and now car will not start at all, they said. They say they called Chrysler and wanted to change complete wiring harness, both fuse boxes, front and rear and all nodules... for a cost of at least $3600 and no gaurantee that will fix the problem.
Just paid for PCM and did key trick and brought it home!
