Default Mounting studs from Roofrack Pics

Took the roof rack off just to see whats there. Here are some lousy pics. They drill 2 holes per mount and then use a stud bracket from underneath and spot weld from the bottom. Tomorrow I will be taking down the headliner to verify this. If I can remove the bracket going to seal the holes and get some circles of matching silver vinyl and cover them up until I get the money to do it right. One thing I have done in the past is take it to a high school auto body class and have them do the work, all I pay for is the supplies. What sucks is that there was rust already on the rear bracket bolts. There was standing water in the mounting housing. And there was coils of paint from where they drilled the holes.

A good reason not to buy a Magnum with the roofrack on it.

It just spoils the look of the car.

indeed
and it's not as if you'd be strappin stuff to the top of this ride, anyway.
I look at the grand I spent in having the roof rack shaved as the best grand I've spent on fixin her up.
