Default FRONT parking sensor?

Hey all,

Have any of you guys (especially the ones like me with lowered Magnums) ever heard of a FRONT parking sensor kit that could be put lowww on the Magnum on the front to sense low flying objects like curbs? I'm getting better at judging where to stop, but not by much. And its only a matter of time before I hear that awful crunching sound.

From what I can see they're out there but are much more prevalant in the UK and asia. Also found one front sensor system in the US but its the usual drill into the bumper bit. I'm looking for something I can stick into the front spoiler between in the slits. Something like the English Veba under-bumper mounts would be *perfect*.

Anyone know anything about jerry-rigging something like this, or where a for-real kit can be found?

You might try something like the old curb feelers they used to have for cars - am I dating myself here?

What you need is a tempered steel thin rod mounted to a coil spring, just in front of the crossmember of your car.

When you hear the rod "sproing" sound, you are close enough.....STOP!

a video camera would be perfect.
You could also put back up sensors on the front. I just don't like how the sensors look.

if you're crunching curbs. lay up a good 2-3 feet short of what you think is the curb. park it and if its a problem, get back in and repark it. a little less "laziness" will go a long way in keeping the chin scratch free, and keeping you from looking like you cant drive. now if you're talking about scraping out of driveways, with a lowered car...this is my area of expertise. I have 12 yrs experience with lowered cars from age 16 till now , speed and deceleration/braking are the enemies of entering and exiting driveways. also, u never approach them at 90 degrees. always get the first wheel (i.e. the front right wheel, turning right into a driveway) onto the curb first thus lifting the front of the car and go in angled until u feel the back left wheel hit the driveway, then u can usually start straightening yourself out (i'm sure you prolly know this).
or just put ur car on bags and dont worry about anything except lowering onto a parking bumper!

Its only laziness if my time is worth nothing over the next seven to 10 years, and I am secure in the knowledge that I never, ever make a mistake. Its the 21st century... 12v pin cameras are $35 on ebay. A good 3" monitor is $65, dashmounted. I haven't priced the rear-view-mirror mounted ones but I bet they ain't too bad. And then there's a roof mount. Seems like an easy and thorough solution.

the sunglass holder would be a nice place to mount a screen.
maybe multiple screens for multiple cameras.
or you can get a HU with Picture in Picture.
it would be a cool mod for aww effect...

as for the curb munching/crunching.
just use the *FORCE* to feel how much space you've got.
you should have a good feeling of how big ur car is by now?
