Default Time to replace spark plugs in hemi

Mopar wants $250 to do it. I understand the hemi's have coil packs...never replaced plugs on a vehicle with coil packs. Are there any special tools I need to get to do the plug change? Advance Auto sells platinum and double platinum..is the double platinum worth the extra moola if the plugs need changed every 30k?

thanks for any info on this.

No special tools required when I changed mine. Other than the usual spark plug socket, plugs are down a sleeve through the valve covers BTW, only needed one other socket and wrench for the coil bolts and a flathead screwdriver where I needed to unplug the coils, to help "twist off" the safety clip on the coils power plug.

The coils are held down by 2 bolts that are easily removed. If I recall on the '05-'07 the coil sits over one plug and the other plug is fired by a coil on the opposite bank, via a plug wire. Later models the coil sat over both plugs. As for plugs (16 of them) I went with the NGK V-Power instead of platinums. Remember to be careful when reinstalling the coil packs. Do not cross thread or overtighten/strip out the holes.

If you have an air compressor, use it to blow out any debris from the sleeve where the plugs is before removing it to keep it from falling into the engine.

Only took me 2 hours but that included the time drinking the 6-pack of MGD (well it was a little warm out that day).
